Choice
Now I seem to remember, early on in the debate, that the pro-choice movement said that if abortions were kept safe and legal, this would never happen again!
"Police in Columbus, Ga., have arrested three women, including an Alabama woman, who are accused of forcing a pregnant 16-year-old to drink turpentine in an attempt to cause an abortion."
My mother took her nurses training when back alley abortions were the norm. She would tell us of all of the women who she had treated (as a nurse trainee) who came in because of the adverse effects of said back alley abortions.
Now the story does not say whether or not there was a Planned Parenthood clinic nearby, but Columbus Georgia is not that small of a community. Fort Benning is right there! Plus Atlanta is about an hour away. Given all of that, if the girl was adamant about getting an abortion or if the girls parents were determined, she could have gone to get a SAFE, LEGAL abortion.
Which just shows the fallacy of the pro-choice movement's arguments.
