Sweet Chocolate......

I'm really surprised that someone at Anti-Strib didn't pick up on this sweet tale.

"NEW YORK- The Easter season unveiling of an anatomically correct chocolate sculpture of Jesus Christ, dubbed "My Sweet Lord" by its creator, has infuriated Catholics preparing to observe some of their holiest days of the year. " (emphasis mine)

The exhibit in question has since been cancelled and the gallery's artistic director has resigned in protest of the cancellation. The artist has not returned calls from the media.

Thanks to the
cartoon protests of last year, I can't help but wonder what the gallery was thinking. Did they think that Christians would continue to stand idly by while their religion was "mocked" (as Islam was supposedly mocked by the Jyllands-Posten cartoons)? Did they think that Christians would not have learned the lessons of the cartoon riots? Did they even think at all?????

I wonder how quickly the gallery would be to highlight a similar sculture of Mohammed - arms outstretched as he ascends into heaven in all his "natural glory"- entitled "Sweet Chocolate Mohammed". Would they agree to highlight the sculpture during the High Holy season of Eid? Would the artist of "My Sweet Lord" have been equally as quick to make a similar sculpture of Mohammed? Inquiring minds want to know.....
