Was Zarqawi set up by his "own" people?

Numerous news sources said that the coalition forces were "led" to Zarqawi's safe house by "numerous" tips. Fox News reported that Zarqawi's own spiritual leader, lead the coalition right to his door. Shortly after reading that, I got this from Dr Tefft (who I referred to here) about the strained relationship between al Zarqawi and his al Qaeda superiors!

"Given that Zarqawi has become a loose cannon and that his actions are handicapping Al Qaeda's efforts, it seems reasonable to expect that an accident may befall him at some point in the near future. If handled right it can be made to look like he went out in a blaze of glory fighting American troops or that he was foully murdered. Either way, al Qaeda gets rid of a problem and gains another "martyr."

Dr. Tefft noted in his email that this article printed (ironically enough) prior to Zarqawi being taken out which leads one to wonder just how many of the "tips" that lead to the discovery of the identity of Zarqawi's spiritual leader (which eventually lead to the discovery of his safe house) were from senior al Qaeda officials who were trying to get rid of a "liability".
