D'oh!

Reuters did it again.....(H/T Charles Johnson)

"News agency Reuters has been forced to admit that footage it released last week purportedly showing Russian submersibles on the seabed of the North Pole actually came from the movie Titanic.
The images were reproduced around the world - including by the Guardian and Guardian Unlimited - alongside the story of Russia planting its flag below the North Pole on Thursday last week."

The scary thing is that a 13 year old is the one who exposed the fraud!

Is it any wonder then that more and more people are less and less trusting of the old media?

"The American public continues to fault news organizations for a number of perceived failures, with solid majorities criticizing them for political bias, inaccuracy and failing to acknowledge mistakes. " (emphasis mine)

A wise editor or publisher would take this data to his/her newsroom and demand changes or resignations. However, I fear that what will happen is that the industry will dig in their heels and refuse to listen to the consumers and the advertisers. If that happens the newspaper industry will go the way of the buggy whip industry and America will be all the poorer for it.
