You Scratch My Back....
As a former resident of the Great State of Illinois, I just found this story to be too danged funny.
Leave it to Durbin to stick up for a fellow crooked pol.....Illinois politics at its finest!
I have to second the author's comments vis a vis pardoning Jim Ryan - it would be more fitting for him to be sharing his cell with his successor Rod Blagojevich and that could be coming very soon.Showing the courage of his convictions -- along with the confidence that comes from not having to face voters for another six years -- Sen. Dick Durbin went "all in" Monday on behalf of former Gov. George Ryan.
If we're lucky, President Bush isn't any more interested in Durbin's opinion that Ryan should be released from prison immediately than he would be if Durbin suggested how the president might spend his retirement years.

Yeah, that's totally different than Hatch springing druggies from jail or testifying for Stephens. Totally different.

Never said it was darlin'. Now as a new citizen to your fair state I can't say that I know much about Sen. Hatch springing druggies so anything you can send my way to educate me on the situation would be appreciated.
As far as Sen. Hatch testifying for Sen. Stevens....I may have said something about it at the time - if not here at someone elses site.....
