Wrong Track
Twenty-one percent (21%) of voters nationwide now say the United States is heading in the right direction. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey also found that 72% believe the nation is moving down the wrong track, while another 7% are not sure.
While those numbers are fairly bleak, they represent the most upbeat assessment since Election Day and reflect a national mood that is slightly more optimistic than before Barack
Obama was elected President.Last week, 17% of voters said the nation was heading in the right direction, while 75% thought it was heading down the wrong track.
Another survey released this week found that 26% of Americans are very hopeful for a quick turnaround with Barack Obama in the White House, and other 34% said they were somewhat hopeful. The same survey also showed that 48% of Americans believe Obama’s inauguration signaled a new era of race relations in the U.S.
So....any thoughts?

I am glad that we finally elected an African-American for president. However, I wish we could have elected someone that would curb out of control spending and growth of government. Neither one of the candidates were going to do that.
It is great that optimism is slightly up, but fighting the economic problems with more of the same (like our president is proposing) seemingly will only lead us further into trouble. Government needs to cut wasteful spending and spend within its bounds. Lastly, Washington needs an awakening of people that will dedicate themselves to clean up our government without worrying about popularity for reelection.
