Overheard At The Capital

A source in the Capital told me today that Rep. Ron Erhardt (R?-Edina) will announce at the end of this Legislative session that he will run for re-election this year as an Independent. This has not been confirmed with the Representative's office but this certainly explains why his campaign website has been down for the last week.

Stay tuned to True North and Ladies Logic for updates.

  • What's up with Edina Republicans? Isn't this like the third Edina (R) to leave the party?

  • I realize this comment is 3 months late and may never be read - but just for the record, Mr. Erhardt's website was down because it ran on the GOP server like many others at no cost to the candidate. Plain and simple, when checking the old internet rights to ronerhardt.com the administrator and contact for the website was a guy named Carey, who turned it off as part of the sanctions imposed on someone voting against the Gov. Mr. Erhardt had to file formal documents with the internet committee to reclaim what he owned - which took a lot of time since it was by paper. Facts can be fun as well as interesting.

  • Allie,

Thanks for the info on the site. Realize though, that the state party has no part in "sanctioning" anyone. It is not their job. Their job is to support the candidate who is the CHOICE of the BPOU. The BPOU (and the HRCC) is who sanctioned Erhardt.

None of the other "Over-ride" Six had their sites taken down. As you said - facts CAN be fun and interesting....
