Faux Friends of Animals

PETA likes to tell folks that they care about animals. That they are all about animal welfare. However, they are not. They ignore abuses when convenient, murder animals when it suits their purposes and in this case, is perfectly happy to let suffering cattle starve to death in Colorado - all because it does not fit with their political agenda.

"The dustup started when KRFX morning hosts Rick Lewis and Michael Floorwax (yes, that's his real name) called PETA to ask if the group would help feed and rescue the snowbound herds. PETA spokeswoman Reannon Peterson took the call, and bluntly replied: "You're going to save them, and then in six months they're going to be killed and end up on someone's plate. So I don't know that it's really the most noble cause." [click to listen].
Peterson added that wild animals caught in the blizzard's wake -- the same animals PETA routinely criticizes hunters for bagging -- also weren't worth spending PETA's money to save. "It's an act of God," she said. "There's really nothing to be done" [click to listen]."

There you have it. An organization that claims to care about the welfare of animals can't be bothered to try to provide food to animals suffering the effects of the Colorado blizzards.

Please, if you care about animals, donate money to your local animal humane society or no-kill shelter. Do NOT give money to the national organizations like PETA. They only care about forcing their vegan lifestyle on you. They don't give a flying fig about the animals!

  • The only thing I really know about PETA is they held a protest outside my dorm when we had our annual Turkey Bowling In Kansas

  • PETA claims to care about animals and animal abuse, but....

I used to belong to PETA. However, after I was a member for about 2 years I started to see that to them it's ALL about the political agenda. The animals are just the tool they use to push the agenda. As soon as I realized that I quit and started working for and donating to local animal shelters.
