This is exactly why I so despise the McCain Feingold BCFRA.

This is not necessarily a right versus left issue, because I can guarantee you that Speaker-elect Pelosi will have overwhelming bipartisan support. This is about incumbents who only want to people to vote them into office while not being accountable to the people that put them there. This is about an incumbency that feels that they are superior to "the people" that put them in office in the first place. It is a further erosion of our Constitutionally guaranteed free speech rights.
Our friends on the left fear an "imperial Presidency" but the real imperialism is coming out of the Legislative Branch. Our legislature is swiftly becoming everything our Founding Fathers rebelled against!
Are we going to just sit silently by while our rights are stripped from us? Are we going to let the lobbyists and corporate intrests usurp our ability to hold legislators accountable when they refuse to represent us? Now is the time to call and write and fax your legislator and remind them that they work for you and not for the corporate intrests that threaten to take over our country.
