SUV's in space
Here it is....definative proof of anthropogenic (man made) global warming - courtesy of Tracy at Anti-Strib.
"Mars would make a lousy host for the Winter Olympics. Yes, there's the lack of air to consider. But more important, Martian snow turns out to be rock hard. Worse, it is melting away at an alarming rate.
In fact, Mars may be in the midst of a period of profound climate change, according to a new study that shows dramatic year-to-year losses of snow at the south pole. "
And we all know how many SUV's the have on Mars now don't we???
In a less sarcastic mode, there was a kernel of truth in the article that both sides need to be mindful of.
"It is not yet clear, though, if the evidence of a single year's change represents a trend. But the study provides a surprising new view of the nature of the southern ice cap, said Michael Caplinger of Malin Space Science Systems."
Let's review...evidence from a single year of study does not represent a trend. What do you think ten years or 100 years on a planet that is millions of years old? Do you suppose this means that more study is needed on the subject? A rational, logical person would think so.
Neither side can lay claim to definative truth on the subject, but the fact that Earth and it's nearest neighbor Mars are both experiencing a period of global warming certainly lends more credence to the theory that global warming is something that is caused by solar activity, not mankind.
Let's get back to the research lab instead of declaring this a "done deal".

I believe your logic could be expressed more succinctly, so that the global warming alarmists can understand it. Something like this:
On the earth, man-made greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are said to cause global warming. On Mars, nothing man-made, no greenhouse gases, no atmosphere, but global warming just the same. Tell us again, Mr. Gore, what causes global warming?
I know what the answer will be, by the way. Last year (and this year) the global warming alarmists have been asked to explain these incredible cold snaps. Their response has been that global warming will cause temperatures to rise in the southern hemisphere and go down in the Northern Hemisphere! When the Delaware State climatologist questioned the accuracy of the figures for sealevel rise, the "scientists" come back and say that the sea level will rise much higher in Delaware Bay than elsewhere. So as you can see, global warming on earth is what will cause global warming on Mars, because that's what "scientists" will say. Hmmm. Starts to sound a lot like that "Sun goes around the earth" theory-cum-religion, doesn't it?

The link thingy to the trackback didn't work. Maybe Tracy has you blocked. Wouldn't want the LME to get jealous now. Or would we?
Oh yeah, man-made Global Warming is a fraud.

is a massive fraud but it appears to be on its way, despite the preponderance of evidence, logic and common sense arrayed against it. Can the mad rush to "do something" actually be stopped, or must we be resigned to simply wait until these alarmists actually screw things up so badly that the truth is unavoidable?

It may be avoidable. I have noticed that there is more and more information available that shows the other side of the debate.
Those who want more research just need to make sure that we stay vocal and active - make sure that our voices are heard.

I wonder if the folks of New York state are convinced of global warming today? :-)

Or Illinois! I talked to my sister in the Chicago area this morning. They got about 4 inches yesterday and they are expecting to finish up with a foot or more of wind-driven snow!

Talk about hilarious: The House subcommittee on global warming cancelled a hearing yesterday because of snow and ice!
