Call Congress Back - It's Time!

Well the Don't Go Movement did get the attention of the MSM today.

A group of conservative online activists launched a new Web site Tuesday to support a call by House Republicans to reconvene Congress and vote on an energy bill.

The site, dontgomovement.com, is intended to be a clearinghouse for information about a protest House Republicans began Friday soon after Congress adjourned for its August recess. Instead of heading home to their districts, some House Republicans have remained in Washington and taken to the floor of the House to protest Congress' failure to act on an energy bill.

“They provided the spark but we were the energy that was already out there,” Patrick Ruffini, a founding editor of the conservative Web site thenextright.com, said on a conference call with fellow online activists Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the number of signatures on the Call Congress Back petition continue to climb. Come on Speaker Pelosi - what are you afraid of? Call a vote on the American Energy Act. If your argument against an all inclusive solution is so good - what have you got to lose?

  • Having Bush call Congress back is a distraction and will shift attention to his lack of power.

Who on the right will do a Contract for America 2 as a referendum on Pelosi tyranny? I see 2 points: remove all restrictions and environmental suits against extracting energy resources from the ground, and pledge to self-imposed term limits a la Tom Coburn.

  • This morning, Senator McCain was demanding that Obama call Congress back into session. Bush is still the president, last time I checked, but it's mighty sporting of McCain to cede the election like that!
