Let The Games Begin

Well, well - it seems that I was wrong on something else the other day when I speculated that Illinois AG Lisa Madigan was helping Daddy's career by going after Blago. It seems that little Lisa has catapulted into the lead of candidates to replace Barack Obama in the senate!

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has surged to the lead among Democrats on the list of favorites to take Barack Obama's place in the U.S. Senate at the expense of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., whose image clearly has suffered in the growing Blagojevich scandal.

As a result of these poll results being announced AG Madigan has upped the pressure on Blago.

Saying the state is "paralyzed" by Gov. Blagojevich's inability to govern, Attorney General Lisa Madigan called on the Illinois Supreme Court on Friday to strip the scandal-plagued executive of his powers.

In an unprecedented move, Madigan asked the high court to remove Blagojevich from office due to "disability," and to appoint Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn in his place.

At the very least, Madigan asked the court to find Blagojevich unable to carry out the duties related to the criminal charges against him, including appointing a senator to fill Barack Obama's seat and the disbursement of state funds.

In doing so she has definitely increased her odds of being the favorite in this race.

And then we have this from the "pot/kettle" department.....we have Dan Rostenkowski chastening Governor Blagojevich advising him to (I kid you not) "just say no" and stay away from tempting situations! This is the SAME Dan Rostenkowski that plead guilty to mail fraud when he got caught using the House post office for personal gain!

It is nice to see that Rostey did not lose his sense of humor while he was in jail!
