What We Have Here....
Was a huge failure to communicate. During the course of preparing for the convention I made sure to keep fairly close contact with those organizing the bloggers efforts at the convention. Flying in for the convention from Utah necessitated that. In spite of my best efforts to make sure that I had the story coming in here, I found out the hard way today just what the vaunted "special media" credentials entailed. Our seats (for the special media) are buried in the basement of the Roy Wilkins Auditorium - no where near the convention floor! Oh sure, they are piping the action from the floor in to us....via CSPAN! Not exactly the live coverage we were told we would be able to provide.
Memo to the other "credentialed bloggers". If you want to see the floor action in person, you can. If you want to write about it real time....save the gas and stay home! I wish I had.....

Or you could sit in the backyard with a smoke and a cocktail and read about it on the web!
I expect some inside scoops and a report of where we should go for dinner tonight to see the most action.

We're dining with the Swiftees but you will get a full report back as soon as we get done with dinner.

I've been at the kitchen table all day monitoring events. Well, that and watching the Bevis & Butthead marathon on Comedy Central. I swear that one dude looks just like Keith Olbermann.

So THAT's where y'all are. I walked all over the XCEL looking, and all I got was sore feet.

I'm emailing Hayden and David both blogger liason's to let them know most bloggers I saw today were mad and disappointed.
Hayden does not pick up her phone or return emails. David will at least email you back with apologies. Just wish they had been honest about what to expect. My room watching CSPAN is just as productive and could've stayed home.
I know I got up there this morning and when no signal showed up I had a good laugh. Fortunatly I have a lot of interviews I've set up local MN politics. The DNC put their bloggers on the floor.
